g-Eclipse Project—Grid Computing and Eclipse
The g-Eclipse consortium aims for a project with a specific objective, which is the delivery of an integrated, Grid enabled workbench tool for Grid application developers, Grid operators and Grid developers.

The g-Eclipse project aims to build an integrated workbench framework to access the power of existing Grid infrastructures. The framework will provide tools to customise Grid users' applications to manage Grid resources and to support the development cycle of new Grid applications.

The project will aim for general Grid workbench tools that can be extended for many different Grid middlewares, starting with implementations for the gLite middleware, and use existing Grid infrastructure from projects like int.eu.grid or EGEE. The final release of the tool is expected in 24 months.
